The passiflora edulis is native to northern Argentina. In tropical and subtropical regions, it is a plant famous for its sweet fruits, also called passion fruit. Delicious passion fruits appear already in the first year after flowering. Besides the fact that the plant produces delicious fruits, it also has large white flowers with purple and blue stripes. These flowers grow from July to September. The fruit then grows from about September to October. Passiflora edulis is evergreen, which means the plant is covered with green leaves all year round. It is a climbing plant: plants quickly cling and cover a trellis or wall. They grow strong and fast and produce many flowers. Plant them in pots or in open ground.
