Borage oil is a nutritional oil composed of 60% polyunsaturated fats and about twice the average content of gamma linolenic acid (GLA) than evening primrose oil. GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body is able to produce from dietary linoleic acid; however, it can be used more effectively for bodily functions when supplied directly from food sources. Research has determined that borage oil does not contain harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Borage oil is squeezed by expeller and without hexane.
