Country of Origin: China Description: Borage oil is also known as starflower oil. Borage is well known as one of the richest sources of essential fatty acids known to humans. It is the richest source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) – up to 25%. This helps encourage mobility of joints and tissues. It is also a fantastic source of linolenic acid, vitamins and minerals. Users can apply it both on sunburned skin and on aged skin, although due to the price and oily residues, many will use it in dilution with other carrier oils. Small amounts (10% or less) of borage are often added to other carrier oils for enrichment. Colour: light yellow. Aromatic Description: Borage has very little odor characteristic of most carrier oils, although it has a slightly sweet tone. Consistency: typical and characteristic of carrier oils. Absorption: Quickly absorbed by the skin. Shelf life: Users can expect a shelf life of 24 months with appropriate storage conditions (cool, away from direct sunlight).
