Des chercheurs du monde entier ont compar\u00e9 la d\u00e9pense calorique totale quotidienne de personnes de 34 pays et cultures diff\u00e9rents \u00e0 travers le monde \u2013 depuis les chasseurs-cueilleurs et les populations agricoles avec de faibles taux d\u2019ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 jusqu\u2019aux personnes occupant des emplois s\u00e9dentaires dans les pays occidentaux, o\u00f9 l\u2019ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 est r\u00e9pandue \u2013 et ont constat\u00e9 que, de mani\u00e8re surprenante, la quantit\u00e9 totale de calories br\u00fbl\u00e9es par jour est vraiment similaire dans ces populations, m\u00eame si leurs niveaux d\u2019activit\u00e9 sont extr\u00eamement diff\u00e9rents. Les r\u00e9sultats ont de grandes implications pour l\u2019ob\u00e9sit\u00e9. Si les diff\u00e9rences dans la d\u00e9pense calorique ne peuvent pas expliquer pourquoi certains pays ont des taux d\u2019ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que d\u2019autres, alors cela doit \u00eatre d\u00fb au r\u00e9gime alimentaire. La grande question devient : qu\u2019en est-il de l\u2019alimentation ?
