If you don’t have the stamina for an entire wall, a combination of similar stencils can add a splash of bright color. Large stencils highlight an empty wall, try them near a sofa or table or even near the skirting board, almost any wall that needs that little extra.
Using laser cut Mylar film and paint, it is easy for a beginner to produce very high quality stencils on furniture, walls, floors, fabrics, windows and almost any other flat surface.
Stencil is fun for the whole family, but beware it’s very addictive. How to use:
Virtually any paint can be used to stencil, but the two most popular types are acrylic and dry brush oil.
Preparation
Always make sure that the surface to be worked is clean and well prepared, without chipping paint.
How to use:
Lightly spray the back of the stencil with spray glue and position the stencil on the chalk line or mark mark.
Paint: Dip your brush or sponge into the paint, then wipe off a large part of it on a piece of kitchen paper. If you use too much paint, you will find that it runs behind the stencil, resulting in a pattern with very uneven edges.
Apply the paint in an up-and-down motion, starting from the outside of each of the cut stencils and moving up to the middle.
Cleaning: Wash your stencil frequently in warm soapy water, especially when changing colors. Remember to check that there is no paint on the back of the stencil. To remove oil paint and glue from your stencils and brushes, soak them in turpentine for a few minutes.
